The Utica Jr Comets, whose first-year 15U team is 6-0 entering the showcase, will play host for the three-day event. Starting today and running through Sunday, 10 teams will play a total of 16 league games with each team seeing three to four games.

Teams include the Philadelphia Hockey Club, New Jersey Rockets, Jersey Hitmen, Northern Cyclones Academy, Jersey Shore Whalers, PAL Junior Islanders, Florida Junior Blades, Springfield Pics and the Islanders Hockey Club.

The average team will travel over 250 miles to call Utica home for the weekend. Over 175 athletes and their families, as well as coaches and college scouts will be spending the weekend in area hotels and dining at local restaurants.

Based off a Camoin Associates Economic Impact Study the economic impact of this event alone will surpass $56,000 in lodging, food and beverage, transportation and miscellaneous spending. This tournament is a sneak peek at what will become a consistent weekend of events once the Nexus Center is complete.
