Horton Room

The Horton Room, named after the late player/coach Bill Horton, is a lounge bar located behind section 218.

Boasting a line-up of top shelf liquors, Labatt Blue, and Labatt Blue Light, The Horton Room is a must stop for season ticket members before, during, and after Utica Comets games and events. You can sip on a mixed drink before the game, or have a Labatt Blue with your friends to celebrate the latest Comets victory. With five big screen TV’s, the NHL Center Ice package, and live broadcasts of every Utica Comets game, The Horton Room is the place to be.

On February 14, 1989, The City of Utica gave tribute to Bill Horton when they renamed, what was then, the main meeting room at The AUD. Bill Horton’s success on the ice, as well as off the ice, helped built the foundation of hockey that attracted the American Hockey League and the Utica Devils to Central New York. In 1985 he returned to the Mohawk Valley and created the Mohawk Valley Comets, and became their General Manager/Coach. The move to bring the MV Comets to Utica, to many, is credited for why the Utica Memorial Auditorium still stands today.
